CUFA received the following message from the York University faculty Association, inviting colleagues to sign the petition, initiated by members at York University, to Save Glendon College. In solidarity, we decided to share:

“As people may have heard, the current administration has forwarded a proposal to dissolve our bilingual Faculty entirely, transfer the faculty members and students to our main Keele campus, and, likely, water down our French/bilingual mandate by transforming it into a quantity of courses, rather than an educational experience in itself.  Their interest is in the potential to marketize the very valuable land on which Glendon College currently sits.  Discussions at York continue about this; the petition is one of the rank-and-file responses (i.e. is not, explicitly, a YUFA initiative).”

“The petition currently has 1600 signatures.  This is our last push to gain even more signatures before we present it to our Interim Provost and Interim President.”
