International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, CUFA wants to salute female faculty members and their endeavours to the advancement of knowledge while they’re still facing challenges and inequities in the progress of their career compared to their male counterparts.

CUFA is committed to a workplace free of discrimination and is proud to announce that its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, chaired by Nicola Nixon from the English Department, is holding its first meeting this week, on March 13. Among other pressing matters, CUFA’s EDI Committee will be addressing the persistent inequalities in hiring and promotion, gender imbalance in some departments, as well as salary equity and indigenization. That makes for quite a busy agenda!

Together with our EDI Committee, let’s mobilize, today and all year long, for a better Concordia where female members of the community are valued for their contribution and not discriminated against because of their gender.

In solidarity.
