On International Women’s Day, CUFA wants to express its commitment towards a more equitable workplace. We are aware that more mobilization and action are needed to tackle persistent inequalities in hiring and promotion as well as gender imbalance in some departments. Female faculty members still face challenges in advancing their career compared to their male counterparts. However, we can positively point to some progress on initiatives such as the current pay equity exercise and new wording in the Collective Agreement.
The upcoming implementation of CUFA’s Committee on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is part of our ongoing efforts to advocate for objectivity and non-discrimination at Concordia University.
